Our History
1981 - The original firm (B P Baxter & Co) was formed by Barry Baxter.
1994 - Justin Smith-Milne joined the practice.
2002 - Justin was made a salaried partner
2004 - Justin was made an equity partner.
2006 - Baxter Smith-Milne was incorporated, Barry expressed the desire to reduce his working hours and as such Justin stepped forward and became the senior equity partner and managing director, the firm then relocated from Pinner to Northwood.
2009 - Baxter Smith-Milne acquired the practice of Sloan & Co. long standing accountants from Uxbridge.
2009 - Justin obtained the remaining 37% of the practice from Barry and became the sole director/shareholder. The company then relaunched as Smith-Milne & Co.
The practice has a long established and respected reputation having been local to Northwood and the surrounding area for over 25 years. It has a good deal of respect with H M Revenue & Customs and over the years has developed excellent alliances within the local business community which can provide key support services to our clients, Utilising these contacts we can offer our clients a complete 'one stop shop'.
It recognises how vital it is to give the clients a good service, no matter how large or small, and never forgets how important the clients are and are proud to say that it still has a considerable number of clients from when the practice started in 1981 which is why most of the business comes from referrals from existing clients.
